JUMPS SYSTEM ANALYSER --------------------- Installation ----------- The installation will create a folder named c:\pmay\nhrat and load the following files: c:\pmay\nhrat\datasheet.prn c:\pmay\nhrat\datasheet2.prn c:\pmay\nhrat\help.txt c:\pmay\nhrat\nhsysch.exe a desktop shortcut to the program will also be setup. Using the Program ----------------- The program has been designed to make generating NH systems as easy as possible. To start, simply click the analyse button and the grid will fill with numbers. These represent winners, runners and average return values for all top-rated horses. The variables presented below this grid allow you to specify a vast range of systems, simply change some and click analyse. To remove a race type, click on the race grade header in the grid, after the next analysis this column will be greyed out. Now click the T button, and you will get a list of the top trainers, the J button gives equivalent figures for the top Jockeys. Sensitivity Analysis -------------------- In the past designing systems in this fashion has been a matter of trial and error. However this package features a sensitivity analysis option which guides you through the process. After clicking analyse, click graphs. A screen featuring six graphs will appear, from these graphical images it is easy to see which variables have the greatest influence on your system. Four further graphs are given in the next page, click more graphs. System Validation ----------------- Once you are satisfied with the system performance, click in Validate. A new screen will appear with confidence intervals for your average return and more importantly a time graph. This graphic shows the performance of the system since 1998 in the form of a rolling average. From this it is easy to see if the system performed well in the past but not so good recently or vice versa. During the Foot and Mouth crisis the ratings performed poorly, this is likely to be apparent from this graph. This package is provided free of charge, but if you find any really good systems please get in touch! www.pjmracing.co.uk
